If A client calls in and complains that mail is not sending or receiving on their outlook, A username box appears.
Ask if the client is connected to the internet? If the client is not connected to the internet the e-mail system on their side will also not work.
If the client is using a 3G connection ask them what the signal strength is on the laptop’s 3G? This could lead to e-mail problems.
e-mail problems are usually due to username and password that’s incorrect in outlook.
The username and password is case sensitive.
Go to admin panel and search the clients e-mail address.
If the e-mail query is send from the client to the ticket system and the person requesting the password is the same as the ticket - Ask some security questions first before giving the client the password over the phone.
Ask the client what service provider he/she is using this will give you a guideline and direct you on what the client’s Incoming and outgoing mail servers should be :
Incoming server : pop3.gam.co.za / (196.35.164.200)
Outgoing server : smtp.gam.co.za / (196.35.164.205)
: smtp.saix.gam.co.za / (196.43.2.142)
:If the Client has 3g or send out mail via another host they will have to contact that
Remember that Gamco clients e-mail accounts needs authentication required under the (more settings) button to be able to send mails out.( Please click here for images on how to activate this on different outlook versions.) Please note that we do not do support on Mac mail and Mac pc`s.
